Part of the "Puskinskaya 10" Art Centre, which was set up in 1989 by a group of St. Petersburg non-conformists, Baza is the best place in town to track down some hard-to-find vinyl. The self-dubbed 'Centre of Dance Alternative and Experimental Music' is chock-a-block full of CDs, tapes, videos and 12 inches, mostly by artists you've never heard of before. Every style of dance music is represented from hip-hop and d'n'b to electro and nu-jazz - and you can give it a whirl on their Technics decks before you part with your roubles. Enter via the courtyard at Ligovsky Prospekt, no. 53 where you'll also find alternative music venue Fish Fabrique.
