19th International Arts Festival 'From Avant-Garde to the Present'

Taking its title from Tolstoy's masterpiece, is the city's 19th Arts Festival, proudly entitled 'War and Peace'. You're guaranteed to feel uplifted and a little teary-eyed as you tune into scores composed during WWI and II designed to boost the army's morale and melodies dedicated to the tragedy and squalor of war.

Concerts will be held at Shostakovich Academic Philharmonic (Glinka Small Hall) , Academic Cappella, Hermitage Theater, Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, Sheremetev Palace and the Composers’ House.
