Baltic House Theatre Festival The 16th International Theatre Festival 'Baltic House' begins at the end of this September. Previously the Leningrad State Theatre, the Baltic House took it's current name in 1991 and via this festival has helped keep cultural ties with many old republics of the USSR. This year the focus is on Polish drama and the celebrated Warsaw National Theatre will be presenting their modern masterpiece 'Kosmos'. Renowned critic, author and theatre director Antoni Libera will also be in St. Petersburg, bringing with him his play “Zapasiewicz plays Beckett”. Famous Polish actor Zbignev Zapasiewicz stars.
Not that the festival is Polish alone. Top dramas from Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will be performed as well of course as several Russian enactions. Click on more info for a full programme in English.
